Metamorphosis – Girl Made of Stars Review

Thoughts:

Perhaps those who never experienced or are related to cases of raping will never truly understand the pain. But you can have a glimpse of what it’s like through Girl Made of Stars.

Before I read the book, I simply thought that the book was going to focus on the prejudice that the LGBTQ community faces.

I was wrong.

When your own brother becomes the culprit of your pain, what option is there? Mara was like a butterfly; it was her metamorphosis.

The secret she hid burnt her, the loved one she avoided struck her, and the lies she heard crashed her.

When she woke up, she became a girl made of stars. New stars.

Review:

This book illustrated teenagers’ confusion along with the darker side of rape. Sometimes the victims of a rape case include more than the people who are directly involved in the case. The mental casualty is inestimable, but few books contribute to the public’s understanding of the topic.

Mara’s decisions were sometimes impulsive, and her personality had flaws. But on her way to pick up stars and lose stars, she became a gorgeous butterfly.

May we all be strong enough to go through transformations.

Girl Made of Stars is a beautiful piece that’s ever so realistic.
